Held on September 19-22, 2024, at the University Hospital Erlangen in Germany
Forty-four registered participants from twenty countries around the world gathered in Erlangen, Germany, to comprehensively study the etiology and histopathological findings in human focal epilepsy. The program covered keynote lectures on major disease conditions, e.g., cortical dysplasia, congenital brain tumors and hippocampal sclerosis, as well as an introduction into the clinical patient work up and the neurosurgical treatment approach. Our faculty included distinguished neuropathologists, which trained participants in small groups how to microscopically review human surgical brain samples. Case presentations by participants and lectures presenting advanced research in SEEG, DNA methylation and genetics completed this 4-day course.
